France Votes For Unicorns And Bunnies

Responsibility is bitter, and the French have decided to spit it out and vote for unicorns and bunnies instead.  Hollande defeated Sarkozy and is promising all sorts of spending and soaking the rich.  In short, they’re about to enjoy some Obama and just like us, they can’t afford it.

If at this point Hollande does control government to a degree where no one can stop him until they’re utterly disgusted with him, there’s no call for him to moderate.  The left isn’t just talking and they’re more than happy to take huge left turns, especially if Hollande has a mandate for it in France.  If Hollande is a socialist true believer, there’s going to be some real pain there before its over.

Businesses in particular may not want to cooperate.  Working hard to run a business so they can be soaked for three-quarters of what they make doesn’t give the socialist unicorns and bunnies any practical appeal.  Obama’s certainly not eager to let France help Greece give the world a lesson on how the unsustainable ends.

Mourdock Up By Ten Over Lugar

It’s not over until the votes are tallied, but it looks like we’ll get to thank the Hoosiers for regaining some RINO control momentum here soon.  Mourdock is up by ten over Lugar and Lugar can’t be too happy about it.  He’s fallen far from his 20% and change lead.

Reports of the demise of the Tea Party have been greatly exaggerated.

So now that we’ve been reminded by the Hoosier cells of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy that we’re all still in the game, it’s time to get back to it.  Show up and vote for Mourdock if you’re in Indiana.  Back up Walker and those in the recalls in Wisconsin.  Visit the Senate Conservatives Fund.  Despite the screwups of establishment Republican leadership in Congress, conservatives still deserve your support.  They are trying to lead.

Occupy Movement Roundup of Stupidity for May 1st

What’s the significance of May 1st?  For those who don’t already know, it’s the communist holiday May Day.  It’s also a day liberals like to make noise.  This time around it’s the Occupy crowd.

Here’s a roundup of some of their stupid:

  1. Stupid and nasty.  An anarchist group was busted for plotting to blow up a bridge and other targets.  Someone from the Occupy movement was involved, but until I hear more I’m not going to say it’s all-out Occupy.
  2. The Blaze has a nice slideshow of the protest in New York.
  3. Seriously, what does Rebecca Black have to do with any of this?  Especially this picture?

Let’s just cut to the bottom line.  How do the Democrats think the Occupy movement is going to help them?  If they’re trying to get elected by selling class warfare to otherwise reasonable people, this isn’t going to help.  If they’re just trying to energize their base, it might possibly help, but the liberal base alone isn’t nearly a majority of Americans.  In fact, it’s only about a fifth to a quarter of them or so which are being energized while repelling more mainstream sorts.

I don’t see this working out for the Democrats in the end, if only because it strips the mask off of liberalism.

Contempt Citation Being Drafted In Congress Against Holder

Those of you familiar with the Fast and Furious scandal know Eric Holder and the DOJ have been less than forthcoming about information.  It’s not reasonable to suspect after the body count on that fiasco that he would be eager to deal with it even though he should.  His stonewalling however has finally led to talk of a contempt of Congress citation in the House.  At least we can hope it did.

Boehner hasn’t made a decision to proceed yet.

Here’s hoping this is for real.  If not, it wouldn’t be the first time Republicans have talked tough and then just folded.  Boehner just complained about the bogus War on Women meme and I really don’t know if it’s due to the internal polling or the realization that no one’s liking what they’ve seen from him that’s come in time for an election year.

Time for the posturing to stop and for something real to be done about Fast and Furious.
