Time To Finish The Job On Lugar’s Tenure

There are polls out now that say Mourdock is up five on Lugar now.  Are you one of the people who can say they were a part of it?  It’s not too late but the window’s closing.

You know you need good news.  This is a very real possibility to get rid of a RINO by a candidate who’s won statewide election before.  You know you’ve had enough of the establishment’s crap and you want to make a statement.  Finish the job on Lugar’s Senate tenure and you’ll make some noise.

You are not gone.  You did not break.  And the establishment Republicans will listen at last, or they’ll each enjoy a Tea Party retirement in turn.  Visit Richard Mourdock and be a part of saying that once again.

Update, 4/27/2012Sarah Palin endorses Mourdock, and McCain endorses Lugar.  McCain’s endorsement comes as no surprise.  It’s the guy who said there’s nothing to fear from an Obama Presidency endorsing Obama’s favorite Republican.

Update, 4/30/2012:  The Young Guns, a group started by Cantor, is attempting to rally Democrats to vote for Lugar in the primary.  On the bright side, now we know they’re establishment trash.  Avoid supporting them if you’d like your money to go to actual conservatives.

President Reagan’s Remarks at the Conservative Political Action Conference – 3/1/85

Why am I posting this?  Mostly because I wanted to listen to a real President for a while.  We haven’t had one for three years or so and I was looking for a change of pace.

It’s not so much the topics Reagan is discussing here but how.  Yes, the topics are dated but the leadership is timeless.  It’s just good to be reminded of it.

Arizona’s SB 1070 Argued Before The Supreme Court

It could be it’s just me and that politically, things haven’t been going well for three years and change, but the fact the justices aren’t taking too kindly to the lawyer arguing that SB1070 should be struck down just doesn’t encourage me all that much.

Granted, the arguments have no weight.  Something about distributing resources and such.  That, and the lawyer Verrilli arguing this is the same guy that didn’t do such a good job of arguing for Obamacare.  For the moment it seems things are going well, but no one has ruled just yet.

Striking down Feingold-McCain on the first try and the taking of private property so it can be given to a private developer to increase the tax base (Kelo vs. New London) were supposed to be obvious decisions too.  So I’ll stop holding my breath when things actually go my way.  Hopefully we’re just due this year for some good news.

Updates:  Edited title to actual number of Arizona’s immigration bill. Big, bad typo on my part.  Added link to Kelo vs. New London case summary.

Boehner Says We Might Lose The House

Granted, he said there was a one in three chance, and perhaps he’s right.

After two years of his ‘stellar’ leadership, it may even be worse than that.  Obama and the Democrats ran rings around him and McConnell.  Then again, that’s only when he and all of his establishment colleagues weren’t attacking the Tea Party sorts that put them back into power in the first place.  The debt ceiling opposition theatre followed by a capitulation while snarking his own base about being ‘childish’ may well have been the beginning of the end for his tenure as Speaker.

If that much happens because he loses his seat, some good will come of it.

It could also be he’s trying to motivate through terror because conservatives won’t follow him otherwise.  If so, he’s got his work cut out for him.  His record of ‘leadership’ isn’t going to make differentiating himself or his party from the Democrats easy.  The sad thing about it is that if they had led with any competence at all, 2012 could have been a blowout instead of us wondering if the damage to the Republicans is even worth mitigating.

Update: Edited the last paragraph to the No Romney Rule.  Sorry for the slip.
