Harry Reid Helped Win the Iraq War

In fact, his campaign would almost certainly be happy to tell you so again.

That’s right.  In the World That Only Exists Around Election Time, Harry Reid’s comment about how the Iraq war was lost helped get Iraq on track.  Stay clear of the spin on this, because the Reid team is pulling some serious RPMs.

On a more serious amateur punditry note, two things are happening:

  1. Harry Reid’s campaign is trying to latch on to Obama’s Iraq success story (/sarc) to help himself get re-elected.
  2. This comment did not endear him to any conservative voters, and he’s trying to get out in front of it before it appears in a campaign ad against him.

Yes, it was a response to a question from a newspaper, but why else choose to answer it this way?  This is a strike against one of his big negatives before Sharron Angle wields it against his career stability, with the hopes it can be spun into a positive.  Take this campaign assertion with a grain of salt.  Better yet, just disregard it entirely.
