The NRSC Needs the RNC Treatment

Just in case you’ve forgotten, the NRSC isn’t worth your time and money either.

Case in point for today:  They sent a lawyer to Alaska at the request of Murkowski after she lost her primary to the Tea Party backed Miller.  Yes, they were nice enough to contact Miller and give him some reassurances.  I suppose they would be as believable as one might expect after they interfered in the Crist-Rubio primary.

The key here is not to get mad.  Just act, because what you can do about this is easy.  The NRSC needs the RNC treatment, and if you’re not among those who are down with the disintermediation, this is another reminder why you should be.

At best, this is stupid and looks bad for the NRSC.  Since they’re all supposed to be political gurus, it’s a sign they possess a lack of job skills that are not worth your support.  If it is the NRSC attempting to interfere on behalf 0f Murkowski against Miller, it’s a sign the establishment still favors RINOs and thus still are not worth your support.  No matter how you cut it, they need to be as bankrupt as the RNC, and become one more RINO National Committee without a budget.

If Rob Jesmer wants to continue being a dolt, let it cost the NRSC until they decide to get rid of him.  There’s no reason to support elitism and incompetence.  Besides, it’ll be fun to hear him whine about how mean we all were because we wouldn’t be his serfs in some editorial after he’s forced out.

A Sad Statement That This Is Newsworthy

It shouldn’t be, but it is, and why the Daily Caller posted it that way:

“NRA not endorsing Reid”

Why would the National Rifle Association support a Democrat?  Even if Reid’s record is slightly above mediocre, does anyone really believe he wouldn’t fall into line with the Democrats on opposing gun rights if they chose to do so?  The fact he earmarked a gun range in Nevada was supposedly such a big thing it even warranted NRA consideration?

Throw in the NRA carving out an exemption for themselves on the DISCLOSE Act, and the organization has fallen a bit from the days of Charlton Heston as their President.  It’s a sad statement than this report is newsworthy.

McCain Hasn’t Crossed the Finish Line Yet

By now, the Arizona primary has come and gone.  McCain’s $21 million dollar bashing of Hayworth bought him the nomination, which he fought harder to attain than he ever did against Obama.  McCain had his victory speech and Hayworth conceded.

I read conservatives being defeated, a few condescending McCain and Republican loyalists (probably staffers) trying to shame us into helping elect him, and the occasional liberal calling this a Tea Party loss.  The bottom line though is that everyone is missing the point.

McCain hasn’t crossed the finish line yet.

He won the nomination, but he still has to get elected in November.  Since I suspect more than a few of us are thinking it, let’s get the ball rolling right now.  McCain is mislabeled Democrat, does not deserve our support, and needs to be defeated in the general.

It’s not as though I’m the first person to bring this up, and the reaction by McCain supporters is pretty much all they have.  “We’re whining” and “we’re childish” because we don’t want to support a RINO hack.  Some guilt trips about how we should be ashamed because our attitude elected Obama.  What else do they have but marginalization and social engineering tactics?  It’s not like they can sell him on the merits.

Don’t like what you’re reading, or sitting on the fence?  Granted, this suggestion is hardly mainstream, but it’s the choice you have now.  To defeat McCain in the general, you’re going to have to make a hard-to-swallow decision.  Actively oppose him for two months and most likely deal with a Democrat who cannot undermine a Tea Party based Republican caucus from within, or re-elect him and be forced to actively oppose him for six years as he makes you jump time and again.

You know who McCain is.  He just spent $21 million dollars demonstrating his waffling and utter contempt for conservatives.  So now, you can think outside the box and replace him with a properly labeled Democrat (or a Libertarian) who can do less damage on the outside than McCain can do from within, or re-elect him and wish you had.

Palin Has Brown Pegged On This One

Sarah Palin gave us a variation on what we’re all thinking when she said Alaska wouldn’t stand for Scott Brown.

It’s long overdue.  Brown got elected with a lot of Tea Party support and he’s been a disappointment.  While I wasn’t really expecting him to be the most conservative candidate, he went even farther to the left than I feared.  But despite the fact Sarah nails another one on the head, all of us who backed the now-useless RINO need to remember one thing.

He was the only move we had at the time.

You backed him?  Quit beating yourself up over it.  Electing him was the only option available at that moment in trying to stop Obamacare.  It was fun to watch the liberals freak as he took over Ted Kennedy’s seat.  And we had another small morale-boosting win that we needed to carry on.

Now in 2012?  He didn’t seem to think too much of being a John McCain Republican.  I’m sure all the maverick independents in his state will be happy to re-elect him in our stead.  There’s certainly no reason for us to give him anything more.
