No jokes now, folks.  It’s zero flak time.

This definitely isn’t funny.  The Obama administration knew the Gulf of Mexico drilling moratorium would cost jobs before they implemented it.  But, they decided to do it anyway because they didn’t trust industry safety and their own inspection standards.

We’re officially at the “not funny” portion of this recession, though it would be arguable to say it started sooner.  It’s hard to believe the job destruction isn’t deliberate now, especially with a report like this.  At the very best, they’re trying to end offshore drilling for the benefit of their eco-cultist supporters and believing that their green jobs utopia can actually exist.

At worst, they just don’t care because one of their special interests got what they wanted, and screw everyone else.  Somewhere in the middle would be that this is just a case of epic Democrat incompetence.  On the bright side, John McCain did reassure us that there was nothing to fear from an Obama Presidency, so that makes it all better.  Heck, the Maine twins still vote as though nothing unusual is happening, why not him too?

So Republicans, do something original and bring your A-game to Congress in 2010, or take your usual F-game back home with you when you lose again in 2012 because you chose the wimp route.
