DISCLOSE Act Defeated. For Now.

McConnell even describes it correctly.  Though surprising that a RINO didn’t find a way to blow it, take the good news when we can get it.  The DISCLOSE act failed to meet the cloture vote, and was defeated.  For now.

This bill isn’t hard to understand.  The Democrats want to hamstring their opponents just shy of an election, especially grassroots organizations like the Tea Party.  That’s all it does, since the Supreme Court took a lot of the trash out of McCain-Feingold.

Chuck Schumer swears they will continue to vote until it passes.  He can feel free to try that route.  If he’s chewing up time trying to make this turkey law, the Senate isn’t voting on other mind-numbingly destructive legislation like cap-and-trade.

We can all see November from our houses now.  Sooner or later, Schumer’s fellow Democrats are going to want to go home and work to save their jobs.  Almost certainly sooner, and this legislative session can’t end soon enough.
