The Order of Stupid Doesn’t Matter

Well, it looks like we might have bought a little relief from comprehensive immigration reform, thanks (/sarc) to The Official Maverick Lapdog Lindsey Graham (Pomeranian – SC).  However, he’s still all for cap-and-trade, and Reid has decided to attempt that first in order to keep him on board.

You can see a video at that link where The Pomeranian slips and admits he’s a Democrat.

I’m not exactly thrilled with Graham’s work.  The order of stupid doesn’t matter:  Cap-and-trade, then amnesty is no better than amnesty, then cap-and-trade.  It’s like deciding which crap sandwich to eat first, and just as futile.

On the bright side, Lindsey Graham has provided the opportunity to show the environmental superhero side of John McCain, Captain Chipmunk, for what it really is.  McCain is a cap-and-trade proponent and all but swimming in the global warming kool-aid.  It’s just that he won’t say so during that whole pesky primary thing with J.D. Hayworth.  Fortunately, he’s on YouTube, so that’s not a real problem.

Enjoy the memories, maverick.

The Immigration Revels Commence

Let the chaos begin.

I knew it was going to get furious on illegal immigration, but not that it would happen this quickly, or so much at once.  People on both sides of the aisle are making their presence and positions known, and none of it is all that pleasant.  We’re in for another battle.

1.)  In our first news, the obvious:  The sun rises in the east every morning, water is wet, and Michael Steele is an idiot.  In this instance, he’s discussing the ‘family angle’ of immigration reform and making promises to Hispanic groups that the Republicans would bring up their own “comprehensive immigration reform” bill.  His rhetoric sounds like code speak for chain migration, which is not something we need right now, or frankly ever, on an uncontrolled basis.

So, if you needed another good reason not to support the RNC, here you go.

2.)  Arizona’s new illegal immigration law caused a riot by pro-illegal immigrant protesters.  I’d like to thank the protesters for demonstrating one of many good reasons why Arizona passed this bill into law.  Had the federal government actually done it’s job, and I’m talking about Obama and Bush, it would not have come to this.

3.)  McCain is talking tough on the issue of illegal immigration now.  He says Obama should post the National Guard at the borders if he doesn’t like Arizona’s new law.  Amazing what a primary challenge has done for his attitude.

I suspect in the days to come, he will otherwise try to walk away from reminders of things like his “God’s children” demagogic about illegal immigrants.  Inconvenient things, those pesky YouTube videos.  On the flip side, I’m sure his new opinion in the matter is utterly sincere, all the way through the end of August or so.

Milquetoast warning…

There will be no shortage on angst and consternation over illegal immigration in the months to come.  I’m thinking this is just the way Democrats want it.  They can’t fire up the base without it.

Immigration Is About To Hit The Fan

The immigration turmoil has begun.

  • First off, my congratulations to Arizona’s governor for signing one of the toughest immigration laws in the country into being today.  I can truly understand them wanting to take action when both parties full of losers and pandering shills would not.  I hope their new bill works out for them.
  • On the other side of the coin, Obama is complaining about it.  I suspect the usual suspects like La Raza and the ACLU will also come out of the woodwork to sue and protest.  Except for the fact that they’re loud and annoying, they don’t have a real point and there’s no real reason to take them into account.
  • Plus, it looks like Congress may be taking another shot at amnesty this summer.  I agree with the conjecture that this is Obama trying to fire up Hispanics to reduce his midterm losses, regardless of the strife he’s going to cause above and beyond what he’s already inflicted.  Not that I suspect he cares.

Now on to the bright side.  This amnesty bill is not welcome, but it is well timed to do damage to…RINOs everywhere.  Especially the cynical illegal immigration maverick waffle himself, John McCain.

I mentioned this before, but I’ll expound on it a bit.  McCain now has a huge problem.  The issue that nearly sank his presidential aspirations has just come to the fore.  Furthermore, the Democrats could well fast-track an attempt at amnesty if they simply recycle the McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill, which won’t make life any easier for him once the Democrats advertise it.  And to top it all off, McCain’s penchant for being a complete media whore means there’s likely tons of footage of him pandering on this issue already up on YouTube, like this little jewel:

It won’t matter what his election-year flip is once all of this comes into play.

It gets better.  Since the Official Maverick Lapdog Lindsey Graham (Pomeranian – SC) will likely be supporting the effort, he can be hung around the necks of every RINO still currently in a primary like a big mavericky albatross.  It’s not that far from accurate to state they’ll all act like him, or form Gangs of Fail with him, or otherwise annoy conservatives just like him.  Again, this especially applies to “maverick” John McCain, who’s bad news is about to grow much, much worse.

We have another fight coming, but we can make use of it.  It’s time for McCain to go, and this will only help bring that about.

Guess What Didn’t Escape the SEC’s Vigilance…

I’ll grant that using the terms “SEC” and “vigilance” in the same sentence is counter-intuitive.  This is the same pack of geniuses that let everything get by them.  Fortunately, though, one thing didn’t escape the vigilance of the SEC.

The pornography.

That’s right.  If you’re a porn star, you’ll be happy to know that the SEC has kept their ever-open eyes upon you.  No fake bosoms will escape their sight.  Not to mention those other unmentionables I’m not going to explicitly state on my demented but semi-respectable blog.  So if you’re trying financial hanky-panky in the middle of those naughtier scenes, you’re…uh…screwed.

Good news, though.  They support the new financial reform bill, which includes among other things the statutory presumption of “too big to fail.”  I’m sure the permanent bailout won’t go to waste though, so long as the SEC doesn’t blow it all on skank.  I don’t think anyone could squander a few billion on porn, but then again, we are talking about the government here…
