Time to Harness The Amnesty Beast

By Ryan • on March 17, 2010

I’ve mentioned this before, but it bears repeating now that it seems amnesty will follow the Obamacare attempt onto the national stage.

To start at the beginning:  There are certain things beyond our control.  This fight is going to happen again.  Amnesty is going to rear its ugly head whether we like it or not, and some Republicans are going to be friendly to it.  Dick Armey has just proven himself to be another misguided fool on this issue, and his latest gibberish makes me glad I dropped from the FreedomWorks mailing list.

What to do then?  If we can’t lose it, use it.

We have to fight this, and we should, but is that all?  Amnesty is going to be front and center anyway, so why not go on the offensive with it?  There are any number of RINOs trying to survive and/or win primary attempts right now that might have some trouble with amnesty hanging around their necks like a millstone.  There’s one truly deserving individual in particular I’m sure would be desperate to avoid it…

No more defense-only.  It’s time to harness the amnesty beast and make it do some of what we want.  It will be present whether we like it or not, and if we have to go through this fight again anyway, why shouldn’t we make the best of it?  Not only that, but since that lapdog Lindsey Graham will be out in front of this as he gets duped by Schumer, we can put him to use too.

You know, this Lindsey Graham…

He wants to be a mavericky irritation?  Fine.  All RINOs become Lindsey Graham.  All RINOs become potential “Gang of Fail” partners for Lindsey Graham.  Fiorina and Campbell in California, McCain in Arizona, Kirk in Illinois.  Any other RINO running for Congress or Congressional nomination can bear this cross too.  Past history says this is true anyway, so why not attack them with the obvious?  Why not use this as ammunition to help insure that if the Republicans return to power in November they’re not just going to become the Other Democrats again?

Circumstances are what they are.  What we do with them or about them, however, is within our reach.  It’s time a few RINOs and then some paid the piper when they try to fold on amnesty.
