Maverick Smurf

I must admit, I’m impressed.

J.D. Hayworth not only put himself in the spotlight, he just forced McCain to react like the Democrat he is.  But the best part is how he did it:  He used an Avatar Oscar nomination parody ad with McCain in blueface.  That’s right, it’s…Maverick Smurf.

You can read the reaction of the McCain campaign at Hot Air.  Basically, they’re trying to gin up some fake outrage over a supposed racial slight like his fellow Democrats, then play the Moral Untouchability Card like Murtha did.  In response, one of Hayworth’s aides gives the response of “Don’t like the ad?  Grow a sense of humor because we’re not pulling it” (not a direct quote), and then made it even more blue.

Plus, McCain’s campaign is also using the “discussion of serious issues” rhetorical technique to marginalize the ad, which is along the lines of the Clintonian “Get back to the work of the American People” spiel.  Works for me.  How about…

  1. How does McCain justify his continued position on Global Warming after all the evidence of manipulated science and data since Climategate?
  2. What is McCain’s position on the upcoming amnesty debate that’s about to arise thanks to the efforts of The Official Maverick Lapdog Lindsey Graham (Pomeranian – SC)?  Does he still think Americans won’t pick lettuce for $50/hr?
  3. Why does McCain find it important, given the economic condition of this country and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, to shift any focus at all on creating legislation regulating vitamin supplements?

Real enough for you McCain shills yet?
