Of Course McCain is Attacking Hayworth

Politico has an article today summing up some of the shenanigans McCain has thrown at Hayworth.  Yes, the two pictures of them there aren’t exactly their best angles, though I find McCain’s quite apt because it sums him up so well.  My reaction to the article is that of course McCain is attacking Hayworth.  How dare a Republican run for the Arizona Republican Senate nomination?

This behavior against Hayworth is nothing new.  In fact, it’s true to form.  McCain has been attacking Republicans and supporting his fellow Democrats for years…

  • He’s a cap & trade proponent
  • He’s an amnesty proponent
  • He at least pretended he was considering making his actual party affiliation official in the past
  • He helped drive the McCain-Feingold 1st Amendment abomination bill to passage
  • He helped stop the Bush tax cuts from being permanent
  • He stopped campaigning to vote for TARP, the bill that started the never-ending bailout
  • He’s the man most responsible for turning Lindsey Graham (Pomeranian – SC), previously a worthwhile conservative, into his mini-me.
  • He was a thorn in the side of Bush for eight years because Bush supposedly done did him wrong in the 2000 South Carolina primary.

He gleefully attacked other conservatives too and left the 11th Commandment to the lesser politicians while saying stuff like this about Obama:

And now, after eight years of effective obstruction and undermining for his fellow Democrats, he’s in a real fight for his career?  It’s no wonder he has a picture in the Politico article that looks as though he’s ready to Speak The Profanity in Loud Tones!  Why would Arizona want a real choice, when it could have McCain, quite possibly the finest Democrat who has ever lived?

P.S.: Now, I’m going to admit that my opinion of this primary can be summed up as “support the guy who has the best chance of getting rid of McCain”.  Hence me being all over the board with Jim Deakin and Chris Simcox.  This time, I’m going to wait until Hayworth is actually officially declared and in this one for real before coming down on the side of a candidate again.

Bernanke is McCain’s Latest Stepping Stone

salesmanI’d like to take this moment to give my regards to Ben Bernanke, Fed Chairman and latest stepping stone in McCain’s frenzy to get re-elected.

Presuming Hayworth can be bothered to officially enter the Arizona primary race, McCain has a real problem beating him.  So, in the tradition of using conservatives for stepping stones to his media darling-hood and “maverick” credentials, he singled out someone else.  Bernanke is up next to lie in the dirt so that McCain’s electoral feet never need touch the ground.  In other words, McCain has taken the position that he wants him gone.

You can read more about this at Michelle Malkin.  And remember everyone, McCain is conservative.  Except when he’s not.  Which is when the coin toss goes…I mean, maybe on Tuesdays…and possibly…aw, heck.  I can’t keep up with it.  Maybe his fellow Democrats know for certain.

It’s a Milestone Moment

beerbarrelI never thought this day would come, and I won’t take long because I don’t like to focus on myself.  I’ve had my first milestone moment:  I’ve been insulted on a liberal blog.

They called me a “screamer” and followed up with some sarcasm.  Not quite like crossing the Rubicon, but certainly a step in the right direction.  <Sniff>…It’s a beautiful day.

At last…I am worthy =).

This Week in McCain News

rhinoIt’s been a busy week for The Mavericky One.

I bet he’s so happy.  He’s finally in the media again, disturbing the blogosphere and annoying conservatives every which way.  Once again, I’m so glad that I’m a maverick supporter of his.  I don’t have to give any of his record or behavior the benefit of the doubt and can ream him in earnest, a treatment he has more than earned.

Where to begin?

  1. J.D. Hayworth has sort of entered the race.  Again, I am unimpressed for now.  There are people we’re supporting who have actually declared and gotten to it, like Rubio and DeVore, without stringing everyone along.  Hayworth doesn’t deserve anyone’s support until he’s in it for real, so he needs to quit this “officially unofficial sort-of declaration” bunk.  We have better things to do than be jerked around, so he can either get with the program or get lost.
  2. Sarah Palin’s support of The Mavericky One has been controversial, but my position about her remains unchanged.  McCain does have her painted into a corner.  Now, if she decides to go all-out for him, I’m going to consider it her Gingrich & Pelosi couch moment, but for now, no.  And no, she’s not going to have any markers with him if she gets him re-elected.  He’ll just assume it was his due because he thinks he’s awesome like that, and keep heaping on the mavericky goodness as he’s always done.
  3. McCain’s pretending to be conservative again, but he’s backing candidates like Fiorina and Crist who are the exact opposite.  It must be nice to have it both ways, at least until someone like Michelle Malkin puts it up for display.  Fortunately, that’s a game two can play.  We can all say we’ll support him, then do everything in our power to burn his career and political influence to the ground.  Maverick support at its finest.
  4. The McCain brigade is out in force in the blogosphere again.  They’re screaming all the usual arguments and praises of him as they did in 2008.  I’ve even seen one or two instances of people trying to use McCain’s POW experience as a moral untouchability card.  I can’t help but to conclude that some of them are paid McCain trolls, and wonder if it pays well.  I can go around telling myself to quit being such a narcissistic child, when I’m not calling myself a childish narcissist.  Where do I get my check?

I’ll be talking more about this as the election rolls onward, because there will be plenty of opportunity to address all these points in more detail.  But for now, I’m going to enjoy the rest of the weekend, because this ride is about to get wild.
