Health Care is The Point of No Return
No jokes now, folks. It’s zero flak time.
This post is addressed to John McCain’s fellow, properly-labeled Democrats who are now in quite the rush to pass their health care destruction act before the 19th. First, you’re going to get it done in a few days. Next, you want to use reconciliation to pass it. You don’t care what passes, so long as it does, and apparently you don’t care if you lose your jobs in the process.
You can read a bit more about that at RedState.
Here’s the problem, O Democrats. Ok, you don’t mind if you lose your seats. What happens if things don’t stop with you losing your seats? Ben Nelson got a taste of some ostracism at a pizza parlor for his badly-considered vote. What happens if that’s a permanent arrangement for him? If your health-care power grab passes, the reminders of what he did will never end.
What if that’s a permanent arrangement for you?
What if you do pass the bill with reconciliation? All the rules about bills passing under reconciliation apply. Then, the Republicans shut down the government while your numbers tank. You’ll have inflicted all this futility on yourselves for the greater good of Obama and no one else. He’s a narcissist who won’t be in office three years from now, but you could, so what worth is his “historic legacy” to you?
What if you pass the bill, and that’s not the end of it? What happens if it goes to court? You’re in spotlight while they consider it, and everyone is not liking you the whole time. What happens if the courts uphold it, and we decide to stop producing because we’ve had enough? Want to find out what happens when we inflict the rolling strikes?
It gets better. You may not have cared if a few of the Blue Dogs went down to defeat, but how about the rest of you? If Scott Brown can win Ted Kennedy’s old seat IN MASSACHUSETTS, and he could because of your health care disaster, which of your seats is safe? None of your seats are safe. And since we conservatives have taken getting decent candidates elected into our own hands, the Republicans can’t bungle it for you in 2010, because the relevance of their inept, loser “leadership” is going down the drain.
Health care is the point of no return for you if you pass this bill. They’ll be no walking away from the hell you’ll cause, no matter what you do. Your short taste of victory will NOT be worth its price.
