They Do It, Bam Owns It

pomeranianIt’s not really happy news today.  As reported at Michelle Malkin, the EPA has decided that all this Climategate stuff doesn’t really apply to anything.   Therefore, they’ve decided to announce that greenhouse gases endanger the public welfare and need to be regulated.  And if Congress doesn’t act, they’ll just do it on their own.

Just one catch:  If they do it, Bam owns it.  Obama, and his entire party.

There is no “bipartisan” hiding place if the EPA does this, because it’s not a bipartisan EPA.  It’s the Democrats’ EPA, so there’s only Democrat damage.  Damage to the economy, damage to personal liberties, and all for a power play owned solely by them.

Yes, the Official Maverick Lapdog Lindsey Graham (Pomeranian – SC) is trying to make it bipartisan with a “bipartisan” cap-and-trade bill, but it’s not there yet.  And no, I’m still not convinced he’s his own Senator after following McCain around like a puppy through his first Senate term.  My guess is he’s doing this at McCain’s bidding or with his blessing so McCain can have his cap-and-trade and get re-elected too.  Isn’t he just so mavericky?

But back on topic.  If you recall, Democrats don’t like owning their own damage.  That’s why they make all that fuss about getting rid of “moderates” and “purity purges” in the Republican party.  If there’s no one in the Republican party to  co-opt, dupe, buy off, or intimidate into cooperation, they’re on their own.  It’s one of the good reasons the mislabeled Democrats in the Republican party have to go.

So if there’s any hope at all to stopping this outside of a court case, it’s that a lot of Democrats don’t want to take the blame for it.  If the EPA carries through on this, those Democrats can go ahead and kiss 2010 goodbye.  I for one won’t miss them.
