The Other Side of the Republicans

By Ryan • on December 2, 2009

fishTwo instances today of Republicans being reasons their party should be reincarnated.  If we could get all the leadership in the party to be like them, it would be worth supporting them again.  Fortunately, we’re well underway with the garbage disposal, which is good.

Time is an issue, and it will take less of it to reincarnate the Republicans than to build their replacements from scratch.  Not that I’m ruling out sending them to meet the Whigs in political oblivion if they stubbornly insist on being nothing more than the placeholder preventing a real conservative second party.  There are plenty of good ones from which to choose should that occur.

Two posts at Michelle Malkin sum up the fun:

  • Roasting ACORNs:  They not only need to keep this up, but if they ever actually get power back again after eight years of disastrous Bush leadership, they need to investigate and start filing charges.
  • Yes, it’s grandstanding, but it’s still cool:  Two Republicans have introduced legislation to give every taxpayer the same penalty Geithner paid for his overdue taxes:  none.  It won’t get anywhere, but it might get more exposure for who and what the Democrats really are.

We need more of this, and less milquetoast.  Surely no more “new tone”.  So I’ll give the Republicans credit they’re due today.  They stepped up as they should have.

I'm going to live forever, or die trying!
