Here’s a Huck response as reported by Hot Air. Basically, he’s attacking the bloggers attacking him over Clemmons because we’ve never made tough governor decisions, and he’s disgusted by the politics of it. We should all be focused on the officers.
Perhaps he should have focused more on people like them during his pardon-palooza and thought ahead before he acted.
It’s not even as though this is one bad decision on his part. His governorship was rife with pardons and commutations. If there’s anything political to be learned from this, it would be to commute and pardon with far more discretion. Fewer people die that way.
So don’t bother me or anyone else with this sanctimony so well-honed by Democrats, mislabeled or otherwise. “When cornered, take the offensive” has been in the political tactics handbook since Clinton, and it doesn’t impress. Huckabee is in no position to be attacking anyone after his part in this.
Addendum, 12/2/2009: Doh. Edited to remove “faux”, because it’s redundant when used with “sanctimony”. I’m sure Huck will have plenty of time to enjoy the humor of my little stumble, now that he won’t have to spend anymore on his destroyed political career.
