SEALs Charged for Doing Their Job

flag_dogThe Navy SEALs caught one of the most wanted terrorist in Iraq, Ahmed Hashim Abed, a man who organized the ambush, death, burning, mutilation, and then display of four Blackwater agents.  Three of them are now up on charges for punching the guy.  Unequivocally, this is beyond stupid.

It would appear that Obama’s government seems to have some trouble with the concept, so I’ll explain it as clearly as I can.  Wars are waged with violence.  There is no sensitive, milquetoast way to engage in violence.  After what this terrorist is done, he should consider the fact one of the SEALs punched him in the mouth a blessing.  Our military can manage far worse.

Again, in explaining it to the fools who would do this to the SEALs:  It’s not practical to go around trying to soften the blow before you kill the enemy.  What are we going to do anyway?  Say things like “We’re sorry, but we really have to kill you now.  But those are nice shoes?”  Put Hello Kitty stickers on the tanks, bombs, and missiles?  Or better yet, bring some of those people that do stuff like prosecute SEALs doing their jobs out to meet the enemy so that they can apologize for it personally?

The SEALs did their jobs properly and should be lauded for it.  The charges are a farce.  It’s that simple.

Doing Something About the NY Terrorist Circus Trial

flag_dogNo jokes now, folks.  It’s zero flak time.

A short reminder of what’s happening.  Holder, our partisan hack AG who helped get his office with McCain’s approval, is putting Khalid Sheikh Mohammad and the 9/11 co-conspirators to trial in a New York civilian court.  Put simply, it’s a security disaster waiting to happen.  Furthermore, there’s no reason to believe it won’t be an America-bashing galore so the leftists can have their red meat as the terrorists pontificate.

Fortunately, there are some people who are responding to it.

Michelle Malkin reports on the 9/11 families that are calling everyone to action.  For your convenience, the Keep America Safe link is posted here as well.  Pay them a visit, and keep up with their latest happenings by signing up for their newsletter today.

Republican Purity Gimmick

professorAs reported by Hot Air, a Republican named James Bopp Jr. is circulating a points list with some “no fudge” items on it which he wants come up for a vote in January.  If you disagree with more than two of them, no money or endorsements from the Republicans.  It sounds like an ROI sort of check, which is sane and would be great if it actually had a chance to do something real.

As it is, there’s no reason to believe it’s more than a gimmick.

I’m guessing NY-23 has finally rattled some people in the Republican Party.  They’re starting to notice that conservatives can, oh, do things without them.  Furthermore, they’ve defied their Stupid Party moniker and have realized that not only can conservatives do things without them, but if that happens long enough, we’ll have no reason to return to the Other Democrats once the ball gets rolling.

So, out comes the gimmick.

Even if they came up with a real list and circulated it, what would happen?  You give it to a potential candidate, and what will they do?  If they’re a Specter-type Republican wannabe, it’s “I’m good for all 10, baby!”  Besides, who’s going to self-evaluate in a way that’s going to cost them money and endorsements?  What, a politician lie?

Furthermore, if they do lie, how is it going to be enforced?  Is someone going to monitor all of these people and go “Such and so doesn’t believe this line or the other, so it’s time to cut off the funding” and cause a righteous party dust-up?  It’s not happening.

So even if the intentions are good, the bottom line is that it’s not possible.  However, I’m not even giving it the benefit of the doubt.  Given things like the fake poll/fundraising letters, nasty treatment for not backing Scozzafava, and Steele agreeing with the press that conservatives are all racists, why should anyone buy that this is real?

How About a Document Dump?

gopherIt seems ACORN can’t even dispose of evidence correctly.

Big Government not only reports, but displays pictures of documents ACORN just threw in a dumpster to avoid investigation.  Since some of it contained personal information that had to be kept and discarded with far more stringent efforts than this, it’s not only a bungled evidence dump, but violates regulations in the process.

Not to worry though.  Jerry Brown, Attorney General for California, is on the job.  I’m sure he’ll get to the bottom of this and realize that no one is at fault but the whistleblowers.

It’s the only way an organization full of inept twits like this could possibly escape prosecution.
