No jokes now, folks. It’s zero flak time.
Nancy Pelosi, called Nazi Pelosi by some due to her autocratic behavior in the House of Representatives, is planning a vote on Disastercare Saturday. At least that’s the plan as of this post. It’s yet another attempt by Democrats to ram another disastrous piece of legislation down America’s throat while they have their small window of opportunity.
Would it have been different if McCain were President? Sure. His name would be first on the bill, and after a few hints in the mainstream media about the possibility of the McCain ego-stroking mini-series should he do the “brave” thing and go “maverick”, all Republican opposition would be suppressed. As you recall, they follow their party leaders like lemmings. So no, I see no reason to believe anything would be different under a President McCain, though his path to the same liberal result would be much different than Obama’s.
No matter in the end. In crisis, opportunity.
I’ve mentioned a few times in the past that good things stir in all of this. What is happening now was inevitable, and we would either be fighting this today or four years from now after McCain put us in a weaker position than where we currently reside. It’s a state of transition that could no longer be avoided because the liberal entrenchment and propaganda had become so widespread only a mass disillusionment and rude awakening had a chance to put America back on course. Not pleasant, but unfortunately necessary.
So it’s time to mention again the good that’s coming from all of this.
- Want to help avoid a Republican presidential travesty in 2012 like we had in 2008? You have the chance in 2010, and in fact two of them. You can electorally annihilate the last RINO that gamed his way through their primaries with Democrat and Independent votes. McCain may have only been running for President to feed his ego (or it sure appears that way from his abysmal campaign), but he absolutely wants to retain his Senate seat. It’s an opportunity for you to smile and say to all the RINOs lining up for 2012 “We didn’t appreciate the last one of you that did this, and something like Arizona 2010 will be waiting for you if you try to force yourselves upon us again. Have a nice day. Somewhere else.”
- Since it bears repeating, the Tea Party movement has come out of this. They would not have formed under McCain. Since they’ll be a force fighting the liberalism in both parties (as NY-23 recently demonstrated), this is a good thing. They are also necessary, as the Stupid Party should not have free reign any more than the Evil Party does.
- The liberals are nakedly demonstrating who they actually are. This is chasing away independents in droves, and wreaking boatloads of rude awakenings across America. As I mentioned above, this may have been the only thing that could turn us away from our current course of self-destruction, even though we’ll be fighting it with Obama for 3+ more years.
- A lot more people will come to appreciate their freedoms once this is all said and done. That’s part of that whole “rude awakening” thing I mentioned in the last point, and it deserves one of its own. People will fight for things they don’t take for granted, and freedom is worth the fight.
We have a crisis now. There was no avoiding it. But if we keep it together, America could be stronger for it when it’s all said and done.
