It’s a good day for another good news article.

Conservatives, including me, are happy about the fact that Scozzafava is out in the NY-23 race.  As it turns out, she really is a mislabeled Democrat, or a DIABLO (Democrat In All But LabelOnly, credit to Mark Steyn for coining the term) in some circles.  Protein Wisdom reports that she’s quietly endorsing Owens to her supporters.

Now for some other good news you may not have considered.

1. Gingrich is entertaining presidential plans in 2012.  Would you have liked to find out he was an establishment Republican then?  Now that he’s stepped in it in the NY-23 race, we’re forewarned.  As though his appearances with Pelosi and Sharpton weren’t enough to do that.
2. Liberals are screaming about a moderate purge again.  There are two instances reported at Michelle Malkin here and here.  That means we’re doing something right.  That something, of course, is continuing to get rid of their political cover and their ideological duplicates on the inside.  If they have to own their own damage, they become far more reluctant to inflict it.
3. Because it bears repeating, we just gave the GOP a smarting reminder that we conservatives will not be ignored or taken for granted.  We also did it in an off election year.  This means it’s at least possible we can jolt them back into good sense without sacrificing another general election cycle to do it.
4. We’ve exposed a lot of stupid inside the GOP, again in an off-year election year where we have a chance to deal with it before the big mid-term elections come and go.  I’ve even heard one description of the GOP leadership as self-loathing, and I can believe it.  If it’s true, they can go loathe themselves elsewhere, because we have a country to put back on track.

Time to bask for a few more moments in the political sunshine.  There’s been a shortage of it through the Obama administration so far, and it’s good to enjoy the ray or two that comes our way.
