I haven’t heard the “incivility” complaint come from a liberal since the Republicans held Congressional majorities. There have been a few screams of “anti-intellectualism” and the usual bevy of liberal verbal abuse, but not “incivility”. However, it’s back, and aimed at Michelle Malkin from the Washington Post.
The fact that Malkin might, oh, have some legitimate concerns about the brainwashing of our youth to like Obama was completely lost on them. Instead, it was “incivility” and “THEY SAY MEAN THINGS!”. The teacher Malkin was questioning cries foul, and because she’s one of the liberal beautiful people, gets to be the hero in this daft news story.
I’m not going to cite liberal instances of “incivility”. They exist in spades, but that’s not the point. Politics is the point. Once you take a side, you become a legitimate target in a never-ending, heated debate. That’s me, Malkin, this teacher Carney-Nunes, or anyone else who steps up and makes a political statement.
There is no “politics with immunity to criticism”. If you engage in them, sooner or later you will take heat.
