The Official Maverick Lapdog Does the Obvious on Cap and Trade
The horror! The shock! It’s…oh, who am I kidding?
As reported by Michelle Malkin, The Official Maverick Lapdog Lindsey Graham (Pomeranian – SC) has signed on to the Cap and Trade bill. I suspect that Captain Chipmunk/John McCain gave him his blessing to do so, as there’s no reason to suspect that Graham acts or speaks without consulting him first. In the end, it was an obvious move on his part backed up by a bunch of lame excuses and pretentions to “bipartisanship”.
So, what to do about it?
- Just because Graham can’t be touched doesn’t mean we can’t take it out on his owner. Not only can you play the Chris Simcox Drinking Game, but if McCain gets through his primary, you can still try to defeat him by backing his properly-labeled Democrat opponent. It would be a choice between a junior, appropriately-labeled Democrat attacking you from the outside, or a senior mislabeled one assaulting you from within. I humbly submit that McCain is the greater evil in all circumstances.
- I’ve seen glimpses at new PACs who assert that they donate only to conservative candidates. It’s a good idea, but approach them with skepticism. It’s not lost on the Republicans that their re-election committees (the NRSC and NRCC) are being boycotted by the grassroots for favoring mislabeled Democrats in their donating. I wouldn’t put it past them to create clones claiming only to donate to conservatives to get around this, so get a track record and do your homework on any such PAC first. Either that, or only donate to conservative candidates directly.
There is the possibility that this is happening because the Republicans believe Obama has been so onerous that we’ll vote for anyone but Democrats in 2010. It’s time to disabuse them of this notion. There is no worth in replacing one Democrat with an improperly labeled Republican one. All that will happen is the same failed liberalism will be inflicted, but conservatives will take the blame for it.
One Bush administration’s worth of blame for a Republican liberal’s failures is quite enough, thank you.
