I Wanna Be Like Mc, Part II

By Ryan • on June 30, 2009

It’s official, folks!  Norm Coleman has been defeated by the comedian Al Franken in Minnesota, and it’s time to shower him with infinite kudos.  He decided that “I wanna be like Mc” and went the extra mile to join the Gang of 10 and help the Republicans create all the maverick supporters they needed to make this possible.  Now, ye newest member of the maverick paradigm, you get to join the…

Yes, the Gang of Goodbye.  A prestigious grouping of former Republican Senators and Congressmen who, through their enlightenment in the maverick paradigm, have been blessed with an abundance of free time by their newfound maverick supporters.  They didn’t need those pesky responsibilities of governance anyway.  It’s more fun to put those pesky conservatives in their place.

Now, some people will mourn the career of Senator Coleman. But I’m sure he won’t be one of them, because he followed the maverick paradigm right to the Promised Land of the Permanent Vacation. You can try to credit Minnesota, or ACORN, or dumb voters, but I’m having none of it!  The bottom line is that Coleman, with a lot of help from the enlightened Rockefellar Republicans, bent over backwards to create maverick supporters in droves in 2008.  Give them credit for all their hard work, and let them reap the rewards of their efforts without stealing their self-esteem.

Seriously, if Coleman didn’t want to end up like this, why on Earth join a Senate Gang only a handful of weeks out of an election?  Anyone who was paying attention knows this is an excellent technique by the Master Maverick to garner puff press and maverick support.  So smile, folks!  Coleman meant to do this.

They all wanna be like Mc!

Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so.
