The Technical Term is “Operator Error”

Doh.

Some of you who’ve visited my blog might have noticed the sudden change of stories to those I wrote about a week or two earlier.  That would be to what is technically called “operator error”.  Namely, an erroneous deletion by me.

Well, I suppose I was due for a goof.  Fortunately, there’s the Straight Talk denial approach, which I’ll give to you now.  Pick your favorite straight talk reason for my operator error, and enjoy a little humor at my expense.

  • I didn’t lose any posts.  I never wrote those posts.
  • I am a conservative…except when my deeply held need for political expediency forces me to change for the good of the country.
  • What do you mean that last reason wasn’t relevant, YOU SIMPERING CHICKENS**T?  F**K YOU!  IT’S ALL ABOUT ME!
  • I don’t make mistakes.

Not to worry.  I post pretty regularly, so I’ll have them replaced in no time.  Until then, I’ll very seriously consider giving Ned the Intern my admin priviledges.

Teleprompters Breaking Down Barriers

Ned the Intern is thrilled that the latest and most prominent political power player in the Obama administration is breaking down barriers and shattering glass ceilings.  This political lead singer of sorts is audacious, has its own blog, and is boldly going where no gadget has gone before.

So if you haven’t already heard, I proudly introduce to you the brains, soul, and driving force behind the Obama administration:

The Presidential Teleprompter

My very own virtual employee, Ned the Intern, sends you his undying respect.  He thinks you’re the greatest thing since object oriented programming.  However, while he’d love to march for you, he’s just a PHP script, albeit a very hard-working one.  But he’ll be with you in spirit.

Specter Grows a Brain…For Now

Apparently, Specter has decided he would like to be re-elected.

In an about-face on an earlier position, Specter has decided to oppose card check.  His floor speech contained the usual moderate bunk about being the voice of reason, and how he’s one of the few, but I’m personally not having any of it.

This bill is painfully simple, Senator Specter.  Either you are for the enslavement of workers to corrupt, selfish unions via union thuggery and the theft of the secret ballot, or you’re not.  This bill is a union payoff and nothing more.  All your fancy words and pretentions to intellectual discourse will not change this fact, or the fact you waffled on a bill this potentially destructive.

If the workers voluntarily wish to unionize, they can do so with the secret ballotThey don’t need card check;  the unions do.  The unions are shrinking because workers are looking at them and thinking twice, which card check would short circuit.  Apparently, incidents like that whole Eastern Airlines spat doesn’t appeal to potenial union members.

Therefore, whine to someone who’s listening, Senator.  Or better still, get a grip.

Take Your Strings Somewhere Else

Basically, that’s what the Governor of Texas just told Obama by rejecting $555 million dollars in unemployment relief.

It’s an old trick.  The federal government gives away all sorts of money, but there are tons of strings attached.  Strings which would do things like force states that don’t agree with Obama’s socialism to start becoming socialist anyway.  But that can’t happen if you don’t take the money, which was a reason the “Defeat governors who read the fine print” clause was added to the stimulus bill.  Whether or not it will see use in Texas remains to be seen.

Texas is a case in point of “take your strings somewhere else”.  So if you ever start wondering why someone would turn down “free” money, realize that the money isn’t actually free.  Free from repayment, yes, but nothing more.
