Maverick Pays Forward
I would like to congradulate Senators Specter, Snowe, and Collins for doing their part to insure an ever-growing number of formerly ordinary conservatives join the maverick paradigm by voting for $800+ billion dollars in useless waste. The Master Maverick has apparently decided he needs to start deceiving ordinary conservatives again in preparation for his 2010 bid, so some completely pointless maverick is a nice change of pace.
Not to worry about McCain’s faked change of heart, because maverick pays forward. It doesn’t matter how few Republicans show their desire for maverick support, all of them receive it on their behalf. Take McCain, for instance. He was one of the primary causes of the groundswell of Republican maverick support 2006 and 2008, and he did it all by himself.
So, fear not maverick conservatives. You’ll have to wait for Specter to reap his just rewards for his maverick behavior, but you can rest assured knowing it will happen. It has twice already.
