Don’t You Wish Republicans Would Do Stuff Like This?

President Obama’s faux stimulus bill is an abomination, but he’s fighting for it.  He’s even going to schedule a press conference in prime time next Monday to try and scaremonger it into existence.

Where would we be now if, oh, Republicans would do things like fight for their principles when they had the bully pulpit?  Then again, perhaps they should just fight for conservatism, because the only times Bush took the bully pulpit were when he was trying to ram liberalism down the throat of his own base.  In fact, his behavior is a major reason his party is standing on the ragged edge of permanent political irrelevance.

As for Obama?  His principles are wrong and radical, but he’s fighting for them, and he’s not attempting to ram conservatism down the throats of his own base.  I almost forgot that this is how it actually worked.
