Nancy Pelosi Owns the Stimulus Bill

I even heard her pause momentarily when she announced the vote total.  Congradulations, Nancy Pelosi.  You and your party are the sole owners of the stimulus bill you just passed.  How does it feel to have absolutely no cover whatsoever?

She knows it’s going to fail as much as I do.  And $825 BILLION dollars in fail is a heck of a thing to try and explain away, even when the media is on your side.  As for the Republicans?  Apparently, they’ve figured it out at last after being rendered one step away from political irrelevance by being the Other Democrats.  If they keep this up, however, they may see re-election in 2010.

If not, there’s always plenty of maverick support to go around.

Sarah Palin Launches a Political Action Committee

Ordinary donation alert.

Sarah Palin has started a PAC.  And yes, while she tried to help McCain get elected, her PAC is not worthy of maverick donations.  She’s just not mavericky enough.  I mean, seriously.  Real opposition to Obama’s candidacy?  Didn’t you see McCain throwing the election for his fellow Democrat?

So, Sarah Palin should receive only your ordinary donations.  Let her PAC feel the burn of huge coffers.  Make her take wheelbarrels of money to the bank due to your ordinary generosity, and perhaps someday, she’ll return to the maverick paradigm.

A Taste of Healthcare to Come

At this point, it’s looking like the Senate Republicans are going to roll over on SCHIP, which will push the socialized medicine snowball and get it going down the hill. Some of you, however, might be wondering why we should try and stop this bill, especially since the Democrats have broken out their “It’s All About the Children” standard-issue demogogic. It all sounds so charitable if you don’t take a closer look.

So, I give you someone with some experience with socialized medicine:
British Health Service: A National Disgrace

This will give some creedence to the direct answer I’m going to give you: We EEEEEEVILE conservatives (I don’t say Republicans, because they’re not conservative anymore) don’t want socialized medicine because we don’t want our health care system to go down the drain and cost more at the same time. The other side does want socialized medicine because they want to buy votes, and don’t care about the inevitable results. It’s just that simple.

Don’t You Just Love Bipartisanship?

Obama sure didn’t wait long to give us a taste of his “bipartisanship”.

He shares the same definition of “bipartisanship” that his fellow Democrat McCain does:  The Democrats get everything they want, and the Republicans and those they represent can pound sand.  Plus, there’s no measurement for success other than to get “something” done.  It doesn’t matter if that “something” is good or bad, just so long as “something” happens.  It’s the moral equivalence standard applied to legislation, which at least makes Obama intellectually honest on that point.

Apparently, he’s not thrilled with Rush Limbaugh either.
