Trillion Dollar Deficits for Years to Come?

Ok, this is just great.

Apparently, Obama has decided he’s going to have to spend, and spend, and spend some more to take care of the economy. Just lovely, but here’s a thought.  Do you think you’ll have all those years before the countries who are going to supposedly loan us these trillions of dollars decide they’ve loaned us enough?

And since you obviously haven’t considered this all that deeply, here are a few more:

  • How are we going to pay all this money back?
  • Am I supposed to care about your gimmicky “I’m banning earmarks” position, when the earmarks are going to be a mere tiny percentage of a massive stimulus boondoggle?
  • What happens when you borrow and then spend enough money to pay off the national debt, only to realize it hasn’t accomplished anything?  Your party has already managed that once before with the whole Great Society.
  • Do you think you’re going to print it instead?  How would you like to go down in history as another stagflation president?  That worked out so well for Carter’s re-election, after all.
  • Once all this goes to hell, how high do you think you’ll raise the taxes before people stop working, start rioting, or otherwise become irked?  It’s not like you’ll have a good reason for doing this in the first place, because your sole consideration was to buy Democrat votes.

I know you couldn’t care less about my opinion, but think before you spend.  You’ll get more of your ever-precious adulation that way.
