First off, why am I not jumping on the Palin bandwagon, or off of it like a proper maverick supporter would be expected to do?  Because I cannot be bothered to sing the maverick praises of lesser politicians, especially those of an ordinary representative like Sarah Palin.  What is it with her anyway?  Reforming government and serving her home state without considering her own selfish interests first?  What kind of maverick politician is that?

But back to the topic.  Today, I’d just like to talk to you, MSM.  You seem to have a problem grasping the fact the Master Maverick might actually be a politician and play to his base in an election year.  So far, I’ve read two editorials (here and here) about his sudden change of heart.  You blow all the facts, as usual, and presume that the “Goodness and Light” from all the damaging things he tried to do from 2000 onward was from the heart.

Here’s a clue, people.  McCain didn’t just suddenly become the way he is today.  He’s been this way since at least 2000.

Here’s where you fit into the picture, MSM.  You were a means to an end for McCain.  He even told you so, when he jokingly called you his base.  Everything he did to disrupt the Republicans from the inside and stall out their efforts in reversing liberal damage was solely intended to manipulate you into paving his way to the Presidency.  Plus, he got to walk in front of the nearest camera, puff his chest proudly, and state “I am a maverick independent” simply because he screwed conservatives, and was in all respects a Democrat with an “R” after his name during the time he needed you.

His incomprehensible brilliance worked.  You bought the lot of it, and gave him all the puff press he ever wanted.  Now, he has a real chance of beating Obama for the Presidency, and you in the MSM get to feel just like the ordinary conservatives McCain has mavericked all of these years for his own gain.  Take it from a former ordinary conservative who’s since gone maverick, there’s nothing like a good bout of eyepoking.  Not to mention all the disillusionment and disappointment you’re feeling now because you’ve discovered who McCain really is.

Truly, is not even the media sacred to the Master Maverick now?  If it was, I wouldn’t be such an admirer of his.  You were just one more stepping stone to him, and the ends justify the means in his rightful quest to become President.  Enjoy feeling like ordinary conservatives, and be grateful he didn’t choose to inflict this sensation on you for eight straight years as he did them.
